History
WSUCC was founded in 1978 by an Indian immigrant family which arrived in Pullman in 1978. Arakere Vasudev and his two teenage sons (Pradeep and Arvind) contacted the Australian embassy, obtained a documentary on cricket, and showed it to a group of WSU students in the student union to muster enough support for a full-fledged WSU cricket team. Due to the support of WSU sports recreation authorities, newly-formed WSUCC started practicing on North Valley Intramural Ground facility in 1978. Ironically, WSUCC’s first ever game was against the Seattle Cricket Club, which was co-founded by Arakere Vasudev around 1960. Since its inception in 1978, many players have come and gone, but their dedication and devotion to cricket has made WSUCC what it is today. The WSUCC is one of the founding clubs of the NWCL, which is affiliated with the USACA. We take immense pride in the fact that WSUCC is one of the clubs that prompted the rebirth of cricket in the USA. WSUCC won the first NWCL championship the very first year the league was launched. Since its initial success in 1995, WSUCC has gone through many ups and downs.
